History of Laney Amps

Welcome to the Laney channel!
Laney Amplification began in the autumn of 1967 during the golden era of British Rock and Roll. Lyndon Laney who was playing bass in a number of Midlands based bands at the time combined his interest in music and electronics and began making boutique amplifiers for fellow band members and friends such as Tony Iommi and Robert Plant.

43yrs on, Laney Amplifiers have grown into a multi-national amplifier manufacturer with a range of products covering all musical styles and a long list of user's and endorsees containing some of the most influential and respected players on the planet.

Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Frank Gambale, Jon 5, Ace Frehley, Andy Timmons, Mattias “IA” Eklundh, Christophe Godin, Kiko Loureiro, Mikael Akerfeldt and many more have used Laney Amplification as part of their sound.

Steeped in Rock Heritage, Laney Amplification takes extreme pride in building exceptional amplifiers for the continually evolving demands of today’s musicians.

07 April 2010 - Laney at Musikmesse 2010

The Frankfurt 2010 Musik Messe was a huge success for Laney amplification where we launched a slew of new products. Here’s a quick look at everything that we launched: -

The new CUB Range – with its bigger bite and a nifty output trick, features the all-new CUB12, CUB12R and the distinctive CUB Head and CUB Cab.

The new Lionheart L20T-112 – for players who wants the amazing Lionheart tone but with more bite and headroom in a combo.

The all-new 2010 Linebacker digital amp range – for players who want everything to enhance their playing and nothing to get in their way.

And finally the 2010 Musik Messe saw the expansion of the highly successful CX PA range with the introduction of the CTX range. CTX is a range of high quality PA cabinets tailored to meet the demands of gigging bands

Throughout the show, the amazing Mattias ‘IA’ Eklundh, Kiko Loureiro and Christophe Godin drew in huge crowds with their enviable playing skills and amazing riffs. 26 January 2010 - New Lionheart L20T-112 model added to Lineup

New Lionheart model added

NAMM 2010 saw the launch of a new Lionheart combo for players who want that amazing Lionheart tone with a bit more bite!

The L20T-112 offers 20 watts on parallel singled ended class a tone in a combo loaded with a Celestion G12H.

26 January 2010 - NEW CXT range launched

NEW CXT range launched

Laney have been long established in the PA market and this years NAMM 2010 show see's the launch of some long anticipated new PA models.

The CXT range is a new range of high quality PA cabinets tailored to meet the demands of gigging bands. CXT consists of the following models :

CXT-108 : 100w RMS, 8" Driver
CXT-110 : 150w RMS, 10" Driver
CXT-112 : 200w RMS, 12" Driver
CXT-115 : 250w RMS, 15" Driver
CXT-215 : 450w RMS, 2x15" Driver
CXS-115 : 250w RMS, 15" Driver (dedicated sub-bass enclosure)

Each cabinet is finished to a very high standard in a tough carpet covering and features rugged internal bracing giving it an extended road life and houses custom designed drivers for optimum performance all of the time, every time.

01 December 2009 - Competition Time!
