Guitar Idol Competition!

Have you got what it takes to open for Joe Satriani at the London Guitar Show? Lick Library, in association with All Out Guitar and Guitar Buyer is running Guitar Idol, an online competition to find the hottest new talent around – and to shower the winners with gear from PRS Guitars, Peavey and Roland/Boss, promotional opportunities with Rockschool and the Guitar Institute, a recording contract with Lion Music, interviews on Lick Library TV and even cash prizes. But of course the main event will be performing at the LGS on the same bill as Joe Satriani.

Step 1 – Get an account

The first thing you need to do is register an account. All you need to do is fill in a username, e-mail address and password.

Step 2 – Prepare your entry

Make sure you have your content ready. This should include:

A biography (At least 100 words)
A Photo (200 pixels wide X 260 pixels high)
Your web address (optional)
Your entry (either MP3 or Youtube) These should not exceed approx 4 minutes if possible

You can download one of our free backing tracks to use a a basis for your entry – or submit your own composition: the choice is yours!

Step 3 – Log in and enter!

If you are not already logged in, do so with the account you made earlier. If you do not land on your dashboard, navigate to it.

1. Choose the type of entry you’d like to make
2. Fill out your details using the content from step 2
3. Once you’ve checked your content over, hit submit
4. Your entry will then be checked by a moderator and published to the site

Steve Vai Competion Winner

LickLibrary are pleased to announce the winner of the Steve Vai Competition, Muris Varajic, whose video of his entry ‘Jamming In Space’ can be found here…

Taking into account the votes submitted by our members, judges Kim Waller, Stuart Bull and Danny Gill, along with all the LickLibrary staff were very impressed with the wide range of high quality submissions and found it decidedly difficult to agree upon a winner once all the entries had been whittled down to a final 10.

After much debate and with Lavaman’s ‘Back To Earth’ being close second, it was agreed by all that Muris’ video was more in the ‘spirit’ of the competition itself and therefore deserved the top prize.

Well done and a massive thanks to all of you who took part in this competition. Keep your eyes peeled for more chances to win other prizes later in the year!
