Are Velvet Revolver Going Nowhere as the Vocalist Hunt Continues...?

Tue, 11 Aug 2009

Since Scott Weiland (formerly of Stone Temple Pilots) sensationally quit Velvet Revolver last year, the Band's future has been somewhat up in the air. Although, with forner Guns 'n Roses men Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum behind the wheel, you would think VR would be heading perpetually further into success.

However, with Slash recently confessing in an interview that the "last tour in the U.K. was the first time I ever had any fun in that band — because I knew that Scott was leaving"  and continuing to tell Classic Rock Magazine that the band are "at a standstill" the rumour-mill continues to bring more and more possible Singers into the fray.

Recently Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine's Zach De La Rocha, Mike Patton of Faith No More, and even Guns 'n Roses frontman Axl Rose himself have ALL been linked with joining the group!  However fans have been told that all of these rumours are unfounded. McKagan recently made vague statements that Velvet Revolver have narrowed it down to just a couple of potential frontmen, and that the, now year-long fiasco, was drawing to a close...

We certainly hoped this was the case, so that the Band can get out of their slump. But with Slash going on his imminent Solo tour in the near future, he wrote to his blog yesterday "It’s possible somebody could turn up before I do my tour, and we could start working on new material sooner than later, in a perfect world,” it seems, for now at least, that hope, and wait, is all fans of Velvet Revolver can do!Related Material:
