Another Injury throws Aerosmith / ZZ-Top Tour into uncertainty

Tue, 11 Aug 2009

We have all come to know and love Aerosmith Vocalist, Steven Tyler's outrageous stage performances over the years - but the frontman has caused panic among some fans, after injuring himself on 2 recent occaisions during gigs while on the "A to Z Tour".

Originally the tour was intended to be "ongoing" with fans across the Globe hoping to get their live fix of legendary rockers Aerosmith, and their huge counterparts ZZ-Top who are opening the show. However since the beginning of the end of June, Tyler has injured himself during at 2 performances, first by "appearing to pull a muscle" and now, from falling off the stage at a Gig in South Dakota last week, during a performance of "Love in an Elevator."

Guitarist Joe Perry has informed Illinois' WXRX that he has no idea what is going to happen with the tour. Perry said, "I’ve heard anywhere from four weeks to two months."

It comes in a long line of injuries for the group. Their Album has been delayed numerous times for a number years now. With Steve Tyler needing throat surgery, and Bassist Tom Hamilton being treated for throat cancer, Perry having knee-surgery, and Brad Whitford requiring surgery after hitting his head, it seems that the band haven't been doing to well at the moment.

Although Mia Tyler (Steven's daughter) has allayed any serious fears. She told tmz.com  "...my dad walked the wrong way and landed on his head. He broke his left shoulder and had to get a few stitches on his noggin'. He is now at home resting and will be back on his feet just as soon as he can to rock the world once more."

Brad Whitford had not long returned from his own injury to rejoin the tour, and with 7 dates to make up already, I would have thought that nobody would like to get back to business, quicker than Aerosmith themselves.

Get well soon...
