Red Hot Chili Peppers To Begin New Album!
Wed, 12 Aug 2009
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are getting to work on their new album! Following up from the success and subsequent "exhaustion" from both the Californication and Stadium Arcadium albums, the band had been on a well-deserved break, with Chad Smith working on his own Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbeats, as well as Chickenfoot - the Supergroup that includes LickLibrary Favourite, Joe Satriani, and Van Halen Legends Sammy Hagar, and Michael Anthony.
Anothnoy Keidis has been working with HBO on a TV version of his Autobiography (Scar Tissue) named "Spider and Son" - which is planned to go on air next year. Flea was apparently also helping out with this process, as well as "experimenting" musically, and like Chad, John Frusciante has been continuing with his solo efforts.
The Chilis' most recent recording was last year with Funk Legend George Clinton, and was a very psychedelic version of the classic song "Let The Good Times Roll."
But now the wait is over, and Chad Smith has confirmed the band are to come back together in October. He told Billboard, "Y'know, I really like having this time off, not being a Chili Pepper and doing other things. (But) It'll be two years in September, so now we're ready."
Smith also indicated that 5-times Chili Producer Rick Rubin would probably come back into the fray stating that Rubin "...always ends up being the guy...But we haven't discussed it."
