Them Crooked Vultures rock Amsterdam and set to play UK in Aug!

Thu, 20 Aug 2009

Them Crooked Cultures fulfilled all expectation last night as they rocked Amsterdam’s Melkweg, a deserted dairy factory saved by a Dutch Theatre group in the heart of the city.  And now it has been stated that the Foo Fighters / Queens of The Stone Age / Led Zeppelin Supergroup will play their first UK gig on August 24th at London’s Islington Academy!
The Amsterdam show last night is being hailed by bloggers and amateur reviewers across the Internet as a triumphant introduction to what Them Crooked Vultures have in store! Their sound being a varied one, the accomplished musicianship of the new Supergroup was never in question, and it would seem they did not stray far from the original set-list of their debut show in Chicago’s Metro club, USA.

Footage from Melkweg:

Much speculation has arisen as to whether or not Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones’s Supergroup could be making an appearance at the Reading / Leeds Festivals in the UK, as well as the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium, and The Lowlands Festival in Holland.
Rather confusingly, Islington’s O2 Academy have not listed the Them Crooked Vultures Gig on their website however, and a spokesperson for Them Crooked Vultures, while speaking to Kerrang! Magazine, said that the show is now sold out.

In addition to the internet frenzy that is getting the band, seemingly deserved, and soaring attentions, there is yet another video clip of the song teaser for “Nobody Loves Me And Neither Do I”  which was posted last night as the Amsterdam crowd awaited Them Crooked Vultures first appearance on a European stage…. Believe the hype?  Have your say on our Forum….
