Banned Rolling Stones documentary surfaces on the net

Fri, 21 Aug 2009

It has been revealed that Robert Frank’s 1972 documentary on the Rolling Stones USA tour, has been broadcast over the internet via a renegade website, despite it’s ban by the ‘Stones themselves!

The legendary documentary was entitled “C**ksucker Blues”  after an unreleased Mick Jagger song of the same name, and saw Frank travel with the band and their entourage, with various members and hangers-on being given cameras to shoot footage for themselves.

The film, like the song itself, has surprisingly dark undertones, and has been regarded as a surprisingly bleak account on the Stones’ life on the road. The documentary features explicit scenes of drug-taking, misbehaviour, and people openly discussing drugs. It was for these reasons that The Rolling Stones immediately moved to suppress the movie.

Legally, the film can now only be shown if director Robert Frank is present, but it has now been leaked  to the masses.

Below is “C**ksucker Blues” by Mick Jagger. Be warned that this clip contains very strong language, and may offend some audiences.
