Alice in Chains catchy new single storms the charts

Wed, 16 Sep 2009

Alice in Chains’ new single entitled “Check My Brian” has rocketed to No.1 in both the Billboard Rock Songs Chart and the R&R Rock Chart ahead of their forthcoming album release.

Alice in Chains first album in 14 years is set to mark their return to form on Sep 29th. And judging by the reception their latest single “Check My Brain” is receiving, Alice In Chains’ new album “Black Gives Way To Blue” is sure to be a success.

With much talk in the media of Elton John’s appearance on the title track of the album, the band’s reformation has been big news. Since the tragic death of vocalist Layne Staley in 2002 after the singer’s battles with Cocaine and Heroin addiction, Alice In Chains have rarely been on the music scene. However, the band reunited to perform a benefit concert in 2005, and are now working with Comes With The Fall front-man, William DuVall.

Although originally released over a month ago (Aug) “Check My Brain” is only now receiving chart success. This could be due to the video for the song debuting yesterday on a host of MTV channels, and being played hourly throughout the day.

As Alice In Chains prepare for the end of their USA tour, the beginning of their European tour, and the release of “Black Gives Way To Blue,” it would appear that a new era in the band’s already near-legendary life is on the horizon.

“Black Gives Way To Blue” goes on general release from Sep 29th, and Alice In Chains will perform 2 nights running on Jimmy Kemmel’s ABC show in celebration.
