Radiohead's Thom Yorke debuts new band with Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers in LA
Mon, 05 Oct 2009
The still as yet un-named band featuring Radiohead front-man Thom Yorke and Red Hot Chili Peppers bass-virtuoso Flea, made their live debut this weekend.
With super-groups forming like there is no tomorrow, the coming together of Flea, Thom Yorke, Nigel Godritch, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco would make the hairs stand up on the neck of the most devoted music lover.
The group made their live debut this weekend, to a lucky audience of 2000. As LickLibrary previously reported, Yorke had posted a blog in which he detailed the schedule for the band’s live debut concerts October 2nd and 4th.
The beginning of yesterday's set was dedicated to the entirety of ‘The Eraser’ – Yorke’s solo
offering which has gained much acclaim. A total of four brand-new songs were performed on the opening night. ‘Lotus Flower (Moon Upon a Stick)’ and ‘Open The Floodgates’ were performed acoustically, solo by Yorke, while ‘Judge Jury and Executioner’ and ‘Paperbag Writer’ were jammed among the five artists upon their return to the stage.
Yorke’s much talked about solo releases, ‘Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses’ and ‘The Hollow Earth’ closed, what was a successful debut set, from the new band that everybody is talking about.

Flea will be due back in the studio this month - as LickLibrary recently reported - working on the next Chili Peppers album. The band have not been together for two years! Chad Smith - legendary drummer for the Chilis - recently spoke of the band's hiatus, as he debuted his solo work, 'Meet The Meatbats.'
As always, LickLibrary will continue to keep you updated...
