Mon, 09 Nov 2009
Deep Purple who are coming to the end of their ‘Rapture of the Deep World Tour’ at the moment say they plan to start writing a new album in February. When asked when a new album could be expected, Ian Gillian said "No one's done any writing yet, I've got about 50 songs in my library at the moment, but they're not for Deep Purple."
The frontman who also released a solo album ‘One Eye To Morocco’ earlier this year, then explained they’ll be taking a break once they finish touring and will start from scratch on the follow up to 2005’s “Rapture of the Deep” album. The album was the fourth studio album since Steve Morse joined the band in 1994 on guitar and the second to feature keyboardist Don Airey.
Deep Purple are releasing "Space Truckin' Round the World Live 68-76" their new live album later this month which will feature rare live recordings from concerts around the world. This release will mark the 10th anniversary of Purple Records. You can find out more about Deep Purple & Purple Records on their websites.
