Sonisphere Festival win Best Newcomer Award

In keeping with this week's Metallica & Metal theme we were delighted to learn that last night, that Sonisphere Festival won 'Best Newcomer' at the Festival Awards last night!

Sonisphere enjoyed their first year with Festival's throughout Europe this past summer ending with Knebworth, England on the 1st and 2nd of August!


Headlining the event were Linkin Park and Metallica, and over the 4 stages over the 2 day festival the line up included Alice in Chains, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Coheed and Cambria, Corey Taylor, Heaven & Hell, Lamb of God,  Machine Head, Saxon, The Used and many more spanning bands old and new.

Sonisphere have announced they will be back for 2010 and the UK dates have been released as 31st July - 1st August 2010, they have been teasing about the line up over on their Twitter recently though!

So, congratulations to Team Sonisphere... I had a great time at Sonisphere 2009 and I can't wait for next year!
