The race for UK Christmas Number One
Fri, 18 Dec 2009
If you've not heard about it by now have you been living under a rock for the past month?
It seem's former Beatle Paul McCartney, despite performing on the Xfactor final last weekend, is backing RATM for Christmas number 1 in an interview with Sky News recently saying if the band got the Christmas number one it would be "Funny" and will "prove a point".
The band yesterday performed the song live for BBC 5 Live Breakfast, via a satellite link from California, where they were asked by BBC bosses NOT TO SWEAR. Of course... they did and were abruptly faded out and cut off by an angry presenter who could be heard saying 'get rid of it'. Presenter Shelagh Fogarty then apologised to listeners
She added: "Sorry. We needed to get rid of that because that suddenly turned in to something we were not expecting. Well, we were expecting it and asked them not to do it and they did it anyway - so buy Joe's record."
Did anyone really think they weren't going to do what they were told to?
Didn't think so.
The UK Christmas number one will be announced on Sunday, and if you haven't already make sure you go download your copy it'll be the best 65p you've spent all year!
To top it of RATM have confirmed they will be giving proceeds from the sales to the homeless charity Shelter.
You've got until Saturday night to be a part of what could be a pretty cool Christmas.
Ho-Ho-Ho
