Wolfmother Announce Release Date for The Cosmic Egg Album

Wolfmother have set the date for the release of their 2nd album Cosmic Egg! The album is set to hit Japan on October 8th, Australia, Germany, and New Zealand on October 9th, Europe on October 12th, and finally USA on October 13th!

The less patient of us will not have to wait so long for the release of the first single from Cosmic Egg however! "New Moon Rising" the bands second release since changing the line-up of the group, is due for Radio and Online release on 14th August!!

New members - Guitarist Aidan Nemeth, Bassist and Keyboardist Ian Peres and Drummer Dave Atkins officially joined Wolfmother in January, after the departure of co-founders Chris Ross and Myles Heskett due to "irreconcilable" differences. Nemeth, Peres, and Atkins all featured on the digitally released free-single "Back Round" and although the single (which hit #100 in the Aussie Charts) was set to be included on the album, but has not appeared on the tracklisting. 

Moreover, the bands frontman, Andrew Stockdale had previously indicated that the album was set to be an 18-Track double-release. This is again contradicted by the 12 song track-list that has appeared on the Band's website, although it has been specified that there will be a Limited-Edition box set available.

 The sound has been described as "Heavy and Riff-Driven" and numerous critics have allayed any fears that Wolfmother could potentially lose their sound. U.S Newspaper "The Herald" stated that "The new line-up sounds ready to deliver the goods..."

Come August the 14th when Wolfmother release "New Moon Rising" the fans will know for sure...
