Sub-Pop to release 20th anniversary re-Issue of Nirvana debut Bleach!

Tue, 18 Aug 2009

Apparently intended for a Summer '09 release, the 20th Anniversary edition of Nirvana's uncompromising debut album, Bleach has now been announced by Sub-Pop for release on November 3rd. Originally intended to coincide with the 1989 release date of June 15th, the reissue has been revisited by Jack Endino, producer of the album that pushed Nirvana into the limelight 20 years ago.

Reported to have spent just 30 hours on the re-work, Endino and Nirvana's own Krist Noveselic supervised George Marino - who worked on the Led Zeppelin remasters. This process was met with satisfaction, and according to Jack Endino, Marino did not "squash" Bleach's original, de-tuned, gritty, post-punk sound.

Accompanying the 20th Anniversary special, will be a Live recording of a 1990 set performed at Pine Street Theatre, Portland, which has also been re-mixed by Jack Endino, as well as a 48-page booklet.
