Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit to release new solo album.
Tue, 15 Sep 2009
Timothy B. Schmit – better known as the bass player for the Eagles – is to release his next solo effort. 8 years on from “Feed the Fire” Schmit’s 5th solo release, entitled “Expando” sees him team up with a host of varied artists.
With The Eagles having been busy over the last few years, and winning a Grammy for their efforts, Schmit has not really had the chance to work on solo material, and has publicly stated that he believes this was reflected on his previous solo release. He is however much more confident on this record, and has collaborated with numerous people throughout its making.
Collaborators on the album range from Kid Rock to Blind Boys of Alabama, Schmit is confident “Expando” will be more of a reflection of himself than anything else. The bassist told Billboard, that “Its been taking a long time” because he had been “…so busy with the band – and that is not a complaint.”
In 2007, The Eagles released their 1st original studio album since 1979. Entitled “Long Road Out of Eden,” Don Henley had called it the “last album The Eagles will ever make.” The album was a sensational success, hitting No.1 in over 15 countries, and The Eagles themselves are still touring the world in support of “Long Road Out of Eden.”
This would make it obviously difficult for a promotional tour of Timothy B. Schmit’s “Expando” to take place any time soon. The album however will be released from Oct 20th.
