Aerosmith audition new singer

Thu, 28 Jan 2010

This image has been reduced in size - click here to view full sizeIt never ends... Aerosmith's will they or won't they replace Steven Tyler... has he or has he not left the band continues as the band prepare to start holding auditions to find a new singer.

First Steven Tyler announced he'd left the band, few days later it was a 'misquote' and Tyler turned up onstage at Joe Perry's show for a surprise performance with him and.... well it goes on a little something like this for the past few months.

Now it seems the original reports were spot on as Aerosmith (Without Tyler) confirm they are to start auditioning for a new singer.  Guitarist Joe Perry told QMI that Aerosmith will be holding some auditions and 'making some phone calls' once he was done with his solo tour in Canada and that they hope to have a new singer by the summer for Aerosmith to hit the road and tour again.

When talking about Steven Tyler he told QMI "He has to have leg surgery and foot surgery and it's basically going to take him out of the picture for about a year, year and a half. So, in the meantime, the rest of the band wants to play. And I want to play with the other guys in Aerosmith. So the four of us are just making our plans. We're gonna find somebody to get in there and fill that spot. Just like when Tom was sick ? we got David Hull to come in and play bass. When Brad was sick, we got somebody else to come in and play for him. That's basically how I look at it; we need another singer to fill in."
