Tue, 20 Jul 2010
In May 2009 it was reported that Ozzy Osbourne initiated procdeedings at The Manhattan Federal Court claiming that Tony Iommi had illegally taken sole ownership of the Black Sabbath Name. "the Black Sabbath trademark should be equally owned by Geezer [Butler, bass], Bill [Ward, drums], Tony and I as the true Black Sabbath lineup is Tony, Geezer, Bill and I." was stated in the reports.
Today, a joint statement has been issued to say that have put their legal troubles behind them, it reads;
"Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi of the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath have amicably resolved their problems over the ownership of the Black Sabbath name and court proceedings in New York have been discontinued," reads the statement. "Both parties are glad to put this behind them and to cooperate together for the future and would like it to be known that the issue was never personal, it was always business."
Recently, Tony Iommi has stated he wouldn't rule out a Black Sabbath reunion, but he did confirm that he and Ozzy are still in touch.
