This image has been reduced in size - click here to view full sizePantera are about to release their 20th anniversary edition of 'Cowboys From Hell', but Phil Anselmo has said he hated the recording process when looking back.

"I hated being in the studio," Phil Anselmo tells Kerrang! in a recent interview "Pantera was a fucking vicious live band and it was a challenge to get Dimebag's guitar sound and to get that sound onto a record. Either way, being perfect, precise and singing every fucking line over and over again, I hated that shit!

"All in all, though, it ended up being one of those things you had to get through," he adds. "It was unpleasant at the time, but later on you come to really, really love it. But it was a relief to finish."
