Iron Maiden first band to be confirmed for Roskilde Festival 2011
Thu, 23 Sep 2010
Iron Maiden are the first band to be confirmed for Denmark's Roskilde Festival next June.
Looks like Iron Maiden fans don't need to worry about front man Bruce Dickinsons new recent role with Astraeus Airlines getting in the way of the band's touring.
Confirmed on the festival's website earlier this week, the band will play at the event for the first time since 2003 and the festival organisers are excited to have them on the bill.
"We are as proud and happy as can be. Having Iron Maiden on the festival poster signals rock attitude, music history and tons of party energy at the same time. It is so great to have them back," says head of music Rikke Øxner.
"Roskilde Festival has always been very special for Iron Maiden. There’s an amazing atmosphere about the place and the crowd are real party animals! We’ve heard the festival vibe is now better than ever, and as we’ve not been there since 2003 we’re really looking forward to finding out if that’s true." says Maiden bassist Steve Harris in the official statement.
