U2 rumoured to be headlining 2011 Glastonbury Festival

With their last minute cancellation at last years festival due to singer Bono's back injury, U2 look set to be the first name to be announced for the 2011 event.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis has said previously that he would like to see the band perform at the festival in 2011 and that the headliners would be announced after all tickets were sold.

U2's manager Paul McGuinness as posted on the bands website that "We're certainly excited about our plans for next year. Watch this space!" hinting that a big announcement was coming soon.
