My Chemical Romance to play Wembley Stadium at NFL International Series opening game

This image has been reduced in size - click here to view full sizeMy Chemical Romance & the NFL have just announced the band will play at the opening of the International Series games in London at the end of this month.  They will open for the game between the San Franciso 49ers and the Denver Broncos at Wembley Stadium on 31st October.

"My Chemical Romance follow in the footsteps of a fantastic pedigree of acts to have performed for the pre-game at Wembley," Alistair Kirkwood from the NFL has said in a statement. "We can't think of a better way to get the crowd in the mood for the big game."

"Performing to 85,000 fellow NFL fans will be one of the highlights of our European tour," added My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way. "We're thrilled to be playing to such a huge crowd in such an iconic venue."
