Pink Floyd to possibly reunite for charity

Mon, 18 Oct 2010

This image has been reduced in size - click here to view full sizePink Floyd's drummer, Nick Mason, has revealed he would like the band to reunite to perform for charities.

"I think it would be a very nice way for a band to gently move towards retirement, by doing shows absolutely for charity rather than for more income," he told BBC News at an event in Manchester yesterday, "In a way the best thing would be to do a number of shows and have some sort of foundation."

The band last played live together at Live 8 in 2005 before keyboardist Richard Wright passed away in 2008. Roger Waters and David Gilmour however performed at two charity events in July.  Nick Mason is confident the remaining members of the band "would like the idea of repeating the Live 8 concept"
