U2 to release new album in 2011

U2's manager has revealed fans can expect a release in early 2011 from the band.

"I would expect a new U2 album sooner than anybody thinks. I would guess early 2011 before the next leg of the American tour, which starts in May," Paul McGuinness told the Irish Times recently.  

Songs expected to be included in the release are new tracks heard on their recent tour such as "Mercy" "Every Breaking Wave" and "Boys Fall From The Sky".

The new 2011 (TBC date) will be likely titled 'Songs Of Ascent' and will be the bands follow up to the 2009 "No Line On The Horizon" album.
