New U2 album is being produced by Danger Mouse
Mon, 25 Oct 2010
U2 have called in producer, Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley/Broken Bells) to work on their 13th studio album, "Songs Of Ascent" (working title).
Singer Bono told theage.com in a recent interview, "We have about 12 songs with him. At the moment that looks like the album we will put out next, because it's just happening so easily."
In addition to the new album the band are also working on a 'club' record with producers such as will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, and Lady Gaga's Producer. "U2's remixes in the 1990s were a real treasure. So we wanted to make a club sounding record." Bono says about the project.
The third album project is a conceptual soundtrack the Bono and The Edge's "Spiderman Musical" which will open on New York Broadway next month. However the bands drummer Larry Mullen Jnr appears to be less than up for the idea. "We haven't convinced the rest of the band to do that yet. Larry definitely has a raised eyebrow."
