Jimi Hendrix documentary to be released in 2011

Due for release next year is a documentary on Jimi Hendrix's Two night residency at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1969.

The film will feature footage of the shows and material from his European tour that same year aswell as behind the scenes footage, the band travelling, jamming with friends at his apartment and playing at SpeakEasy nightclub, Janie Hendrix tells to Billboard.com "It's a kind of a day in the life of Jimi, how we put it together.  There were about four cameras that followed Jimi and the guys around in Europe and filmed the two concerts at the Royal Albert Hall,"

It has not be confirmed whether the documentary will be aired in cinemas but it's a possibility as well as pay-per-view TV and a DVD.  There is also a companion soundtrack due which include the live performances from the show.
