Abbey Road Studios up for sale?

Wed, 17 Feb 2010

This image has been reduced in size - click here to view full sizeEMI records have reportedly put the world famous Abbey Road Studios up for sale to help the debt issues the company is facing.

The studio made famous and immortalised by The Beatles draws Beatles fans from all over the world to its North London location to pose for photographs imitating the picture of the 1969 Abbey Road album cover.

The Georgian town house built in 1831 has a long history, not just the Beatles who recorded the majority of their hits in the 1960's there.  Music has been created by classical composers, rockbands and even Jeff Beck!

Sir Paul McCartney has expressed his desire for wanting the St John's Wood studios to be saved.  Fans are wondering if he'll be putting up the cash to save it?
