Mike Portnoy finishes work with Avenged Sevenfold

A little while ago, Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy updated his Twitter to tell everyone he'd finished his part on the new Avenged Sevenfold album and thanked the A7X fans for their support -and to celebrate he and guitarist Zacky Vengeance got matching Deathbat Tattoo's, whilst M Shadows added to a Rev Deathbat to his tattoo collection.

"Just finished the A7X drum tracks...what an amazing experience!" said Mike, he then went on to thank the fans for their support , "I must thank the amazing A7X fans for being so open and welcoming to me..I was fearing them being very defensive over The Rev's drum throne but they've all been so supportive, open-minded, understanding and excited by the news...it is a huge relief to me and the guys.....what an awesome family spirit these guys have...lotsa love! Hopefully this wont be the last time we play together.."

We can't wait to hear this new album, and anyone that's ever spent anytime with Avenged Sevenfold or any of their friends, family or fans will vouch for the family spirit.
