In October 2008, Ringo posted a video mesage on his website telling his fans he'd no long sign memorabilia, and that fan main would be thrown away.

At the weekend the former Beatle spoke to BBC Radio 2 in the UK he was surprised by the reaction to his announcement after years of signing "millions" of autographs over the years before imposing the band, "I honestly didn't think it was going to be world news - BBC and CNN,"
He explained, "I was signing and then they were on eBay the next day. So I just decided, I think I've done my share. That's it."

An autographs expert from Memorabilia UK has said that Ringo Starr's signature has risen in price around 30% since the self-imposed ban.

Ringo Starr will be performing at Los Angeles's famous Greek Theatre in August this year find out more information here.
