Sir Paul McCartney recieves music award from the US President

Yesterday, Sir Paul McCartney performed at the White House in Washington after being presented with the third annual Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
During his performance he performed for President Obama and his family, which included the song 'Michelle', directed to the First Lady, it is said he had been "itching" to perform the swong to Mrs Obama. He also performed Got To Get You Into My Life and Hey Jude.
Other performances included Dave Grohl, Corinne Bailey Rae and Stevie Wonder.
The previous winners of the Gershwin Prize have been Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder which is given by the Library of Congress.
"I don't think there could be anything more special than to perform here," he said at the event.
The British singer-songwriter was also praised by President Obama for his contribution to American Culture, commenting that "helped to lay the soundtrack for an entire generation".
Paul McCartney will head to the UK soon to play his headlining gigs at a number of festivals and concerts.
