Roger Waters & David Gilmour perform together for charity
Thu, 15 Jul 2010
Last weekend Roger Waters & David Gilmour performed together for the first time since 2005's Live 8 concert in London.
They played four tracks including: 'To Know Him Is To Love Him' by The Teddy Bears, 'Wish You Were Here', 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Another Brick In The Wall (Part Two)' at the HOPING foundation benefit raising money for 'Hope and Optimism for Palestinians in the Next Generation'.
The organser of the event, Bella Freud told RollingStone.com that both Roger and David were in good spirits and hinted that they may have 'buried the hatchet', "David arrived first and then Roger came on and I saw Roger give David a hug," she says. "It was really lovely."
Although only planning to perform 3 songs, a donation of £50,000 was made by financier Arpad Busson to get them to play "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt2"
"Some other people were also saying they'd give £200,000 for them to play one more song," Freud adds. "People were crying — really! I know it sounds corny, but it was magic. David and Roger — they looked so happy up there and they made something so beautiful happen."
