Avenged Sevenfold play live for the first time with Mike Portnoy plus concert to stream online!

This week has been a big week for the band from Orange County. On Sunday evening in Canada, Avenged Sevenfold and Mike Portnoy played their first live show together at Montreal's Heavy MTL festival.

During this first show the band have done since the sad passing of their drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan they played a 10 song set including tracks from the new album, Nightmare.

On Monday, the album NIGHTMARE was released in the UK and by the end of the first day, had the Number 1 and 3 album (Different editions of the album are available) Number 2 for their song 'Lost it All' and Number 1 Music Video for the single "Nightmare" on the UK iTunes Rock Chart.  Today in the UK the album stands at Number 3 on the official album charts. Tuesday the album was released in the United States and hit the Number 1 album spot on iTunes!  

If you haven't already got your copy head over to iTunes or your local record store and pick it up, apparently though some stores are sold out!

The new album is strong, passionate, emotional and truly remarkable full of the big sounds and riffs Avenged Sevenfold have been known for.  Mike Portnoy has done an amazing job in honouring The Rev's drum parts and its definitely an album for the band to be proud of. A perfect tribute to their missing brother.

In addition as a surprise, fansite DeathBatNews is giving fans who didn't purchase the bands sold out Limited Edition "Book Of Nightmares" a chance to hear the original Nightmare Demo on their site.  You can check this out here. The track features the original electronic drum tracks from The Rev.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD LIVE WEB CHAT TONIGHT!
Tonight (July 29th) Avenged Sevenfold will be hosting a live webchat for their fans on their new uStream channel. The live video chat will be held at 5pm(US-EDT) - or 2pm US-PDT - which for us here in the UK will be 10pm!

That's not all. On Saturday 31st July the band will be streaming their concert live (7pm EDT, 4pm PDT - 12/Midnight UK time) for their fans around the world.  Head to www.avengedsevenfold.com for full updates.
