Guns N Roses turn up late on both Reading & Leeds Festivals, Axl blames crew for letting him nap

This image has been reduced in size - click here to view full sizeDespite warnings from the Reading & Leeds festival organisers last week, Guns N Roses still arrived late for the headlining sets this past weekend.

Despite being onsite at 8.15pm according to his Twitter status "Bkstage at Reading. Tour's ON! Our apologies 4 any inconvenience. Peace!" The band took to the stage over an hour late to be welcomed by boo's from the crowd.As promised festival organisers pulled the plug during the bands set, they did extend the curfew but still had to cut the sound, the band then attempted to perform an acoustic version of Paradise City using a megaphone.

There's a few videos out there from the show on YouTube as the band had refused to let the BBC who were showing live coverage of the festivals to film and show their sets. Check out this one below;

Following their cut performance the band expressed their anger at having their set cut at Reading guitarist DJ Ashba claiming that festival organiser Melvin Benn had a personal grudge against the band from their last appearance 8 years ago and he was to blame for the thousands of fans who missed out.

However, when Sunday night rolled around they still arrived onstage 35 minutes late claiming they had a 'deal in place' to continue until 11.58pm but the festival organisers had no information of this 'arrangement' and cut the set at the curfew again.

"We were guaranteed to play till 11.58 but they are telling us to end our set," he told the crowd at Leeds. "We're 35 miles from Leeds in a field in the middle of nowhere, who cares?"

Today it has emerged that Axl Rose is blaming his late arrival onstage at Reading on his tour crew after they let him 'nap longer than he should have'. He then reportedly fired his team and had to rehire them again for Leeds when he realised it was too short notice to fly in a new team a source told the Daily Star newspaper.

It seems to us this could have perhaps been avoided if they just took to the stage at the scheduled time....what do you think? Head over and discuss it with everyone on Facebook.

The band are due to play in Belfast tonight...any guesses on how late they hit the stage?
