James McCartney is set to release his debut EP on September 21st on iTunes. The 33 year old singer-songwriter has played a few gigs over the last year and it is reported that an album will follow his EP release.
The songs featured on his first EP were recorded at Abbey Road and produced by father, Sir Paul McCartney with help from David Kahne.
"The music was inspired by the Beatles, Nirvana, the Cure, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, and all good music," James has said about the EP, before adding "The words on the album refer to spirituality, love, family, trying to sort out one's life, and many other things,"
In addition to being a singer-songwriter James also plays Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Mandolin, Piano and Bass. Despite this being his first album, he has previously toured as part of his father's backing band and co-written songs for his father.
