Stone Temple Pilots postpone US tour after onstage 'outburst'

Stone Temple Pilots have announced they are taking a 'short break' during their current US tour.
The announcement made late last week confirmed that the band will return to the road on October 8th in Tampa, Florida.
The 'break' comes after frontman Scott Weiland took to the stage and offered 'slurred tangents about his in-ear monitors, past drug use and thoughts on grunge music' say many reports from a recent show in Houston, Texas.
"The 8th of December will be the time when I stopped doing dope," Weiland said, and then hushed the crowd as it began to cheer. "No, no, no, no," he continued. "I started drinking again. My brother died, I got divorced (from) my wife, and my whole world basically spun around. So you know what? I'm going to take care of myself because that's what I need to take care of. Instead of just having a few shows, I want to have a whole hell of a lot of shows."Earlier this year the band saw its first album in 9 years debut at number 2 in the US album charts.
