Meanwhile in other Slayer news, drummer Dave Lombardo has revealed that guitarist Jeff Hanneman has started to play guitar again after his hospitalisation earlier this year from a flesh eating disease he contracted from a spider bite. "He's starting to play, he's getting ready and getting his arm back into shape for shows that are coming up." He says in an interview with Metalchroniques which you can watch here.
Whilst Jeff Hanneman recovered the band continued with their tour and brought in Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, who's band will join Slayer & Rob Zombie on tour this summer, the drummer explained in the interview why they chose Gary Holt to fill in. "When we were at Hellfest in France, Gary was playing in Exodus, and he really impressed Kerry and myself, he did really good, we we're like 'man this guy's really good.' And then this happened with Jeff, Gary was the first person that came to mind, there was no second person"
