ZZ Top are back in the studio working on a follow up album to 2003's 'Mescalero' LP pre
dicting that it could be out by the end of the year.
Talking to Billboard.com, guitarist Billy Gibbons says work on the next album is in 'full production'. "I've got a little studio at my house out in L.A," he says, "and it kind of takes the load off to be able to leave Texas, got to California, stay there for awhile and then you get to leave California and come back to Texas."
Fans can rest assured that the band are "still just making a lot of loud noise. We still pose as interpreters of the blues. We can't invent it; It's already been invented. But we can do it our way." He adds when talking about the sound.
ZZ Top have also recently announced a tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd, the 'Rebels & Bandoleros Tour', the bands first toured together in 1974 on the Outlaw Tour. The tour kicks off in May.
"We love the guys in ZZ Top, and their music, and can't wait to get back out on the road with them," says Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Johnn Van Zant in the official statement, "This show is an event that the fans are going to love."
