Former Alice In Chains Bassist, Mike Starr passes away age 44

Alice In Chains co-founder and former bassist Mike Starr has sadly passed away at just 44 years old.

The news broke as website TMZ reported that Mike Starr had been found dead at his home in Utah. The police were called to his Salt Lake City home at 1.42pm yesterday afternoon. The police have stated they do not suspect foul play an autopsy will hopefully be able to give the family some answers over the cause of his death, but could take up to two months.

The band released a statement following the news, "Jerry (Cantrell) and Sean (Kinney) are mourning the loss of their friend and ask that the media respect their privacy – and the privacy of the Starr family – during this difficult time. Their thoughts and prayers are with the Starr family."
