Revolver Golden Gods Awards 2011 Winners

Last night Revolver Magazine held their annual Golden God Awards in Los Angeles whichs saw Orange County Metal band Avenged Sevenfold headline their the live show with a setlist which also saw guest appearances from Duff McKagan and Vinnie Paul.


Although Mike Portnoy did not perform with the band, he was also in attendance to win best drum performance for his work on A7X's Nightmare.  On accepting his award (on his birthday yesterday) he spoke of the honour it was for him to play on the album as a tribute to their late drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, "It was an honor for me to play on the album and do the job the Rev wasn’t able to complete. The 1 thing that blew me away was the fans! Thank you all."

Setlist:
- Nightmare
- Beast and the Harlot
- It’s So Easy (Guns N Roses cover with Duff McKagan)
- Bat Country
- Mouth For War (Pantera cover with Vinnie Paul on Drums)
- Almost Easy

Guitarist Zacky Vengeance was excited after winning his awards and took to his Twitter to say after the show to say "I won an award and said thank you and hail satan. VH1 is gonna love me."Motley Crue were also honoured last night as they celebrate their 30th anniversary with the Ronnie James Dio Life Time Achivement Award

Drum Workshop Best Drummer:- Mike Portnoy Best Vocalist:- M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) 
Affliction Album of the Year:- Avenged Sevenfold, Nightmare 
Samson Zoom Best Live Band:- Rammstein 
Most Metal Athlete:- Mike Vallely (pro skateboarding)
Best New Band: - Black Veil Brides
Eagle Rock Comeback of the Year: - Murderdolls 
Motley Crue were presented with the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achivement Award
Alice Cooper was honoured as the GOLDEN GOD
