Former members of Dire Straits regroup as "The Straits" for one off show

Tue, 03 May 2011

Former members of Dire Straits plus some very special guests will perform at London's Royal Albert Hall on May 22nd as "The Straits" for a one off charity show.

The gig is in aid of the UK's leading youth cricket and sports charity, The Lords Taverners. The charity was founded in 1950 by a group of actors led by Martin Boddey, who used to enjoy watching the cricket from The Tavern pub at Lord's Cricket Ground.

The show is set to feature former members: Alan Clark, Phil Palmer, Chris White, Steve Ferrone, Terrance Reis, Mick Feat and Jamie Squire in a rare opportunity to see their hits performed live.

During Dire Straits 18 year career they sold 120 million albums worldwide, received three BRIT awards, four Grammys and two MTV Music Awards.

Tickets for the show are available from the Royal Albert Hall's official website.
