Avenged Sevenfold release new song for video game "Call Of Duty" series

Thu, 05 May 2011

Earlier this week Avenged Sevenfold released a brand new, unreleased track in the US created exclusively for video game series "Call of Duty: Black Ops" for their latest edition to the game "Call of the Dead."

Treyarch, makers of the game, asked the band to write an original song for "Call of The Dead", making them the first outside band to commissioned to write a song for the game in around 8 years.

Frontman M Shadows, is a huge Call of Duty fan, spending hours every night on the game and insisting on taking his own game rig into venues when the band are on tour, so when Treyarch approached them, it didn't take much convincing so say yes.

When asked about the song, frontman M Shadows explained they wanted to write a song that would, "sound cool if you’re killing zombies, this would sound good if you’re running."The song features the first with current tour drummer Arin Ilejay, who has been touring with the band during 2011 whilsts they take steps to decidng their next move in terms of filling the vacant full time drum spot.

In true A7X style, giving fans value for money, the song is a huge 7 minutes 5 seconds long of powerful, vocals and guitar work that definitely would sound great during a zombie attack! The song is now available (as of today) on iTunes.

More information on the new track can be read here and here.
