Metallica have no shortage of new guitar riff ideas for the new album
Thu, 05 May 2011
Metallica are set to head back into the studio to record their new album, and alre
ady have a huge load of material to work on drummer Lars Ulrich recently told Metal Hammer magazine.
"James told me in Australia that he had over 700 new riffs. That was slightly overwhelming. It's kind of frightening. James is not allowed to play guitar without being recorded. Literally! There are also hours and hours of jams and tuning-room shindigs.
"We're gonna sit down and wade through two and half years' worth of riffs and jams and hopefully a lot of the seeds for the next Metallica record will be in that. We can use the rest of the riffs for ringtones or, I don't know, set up a web site, SpareRiffs.com."
That would be an intereating concept, would buy a Metallica spareriff?
Earlier this week, the band announced their first show in India, click here for details and another USA Big 4 show at the New York Yankee Stadium in September (Tickets for New York show go onsale tomorrow - Friday).
