No plans for new Rage album this year
Thu, 05 May 2011
Rumours were rife on music websites and amongst the blogging community about an alleged new album emanating from the Rage Against The Machine camp with even an apparent comment from lead singer Zack De La Rocha that the rap-metal pioneers would fin
ally make a new album this year.
But lead guitarist Tom Morello has told The Pulse Of Radio that all the band has planned for the rest of the year is an appearance at the L.A Rising Festival on July 30th alongside Muse and Rise Against, among others.
He said "Right now there are no - you know, the band is not writing songs, the band is not in the studio. We get along famously and we all, you know, intend to do more Rage Against The Machine stuff in the future, but beyond sort of working out a concert this year, there's nothing else on the schedule."
Rage released their last studio album 'Renegades' in 2000 and the band disbanded the same year but reunited in 2007 for a number of live shows, including a colossal appearance at both Reading & Leeds Festivals in 2008.
