Keith Richards discusses album plans with Jimmy Fallon

Fri, 13 May 2011

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards appeared on American talk show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night and gave an interview filled of debauched rock n roll tales, the Beatles - Stones rivalry and his appearance in Pirates of the Caribbean. But among the story's of drug-laden Bentleys and giant autographed lemons there was also a tasty tidbit about Richards own plans for 2011.

When asked whether the Stones would be working together this year, Richards answered "I’m trying to nail them down, but I don’t want to crucify them."

Fallon also revealed that he had visited Richards whilst at the Germano recording studio in New York, confirming the rumours that he was working on a new material without the Stones.

"Well, I’d got to working with [drummer] Steve Jordan with The X-pensive Winos and, you know, when inspiration hits…yeah,"
he enthused. Richards went on to say that a
new X-pensive Winos album was "starting to blossom
."

Richards will appear in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which hits theatres on May 20.
