Taylor Hawkins acts as Dave Grohl's drum machine
Fri, 13 May 2011
Taylor Hawkins was recently interviewed by Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey
to talk about the new Foo Fighters album, "Wasting Light".
The interview conducted for Rhythm Magazine, also posted on Foo Fighters fansite FooArchive.com saw Taylor Hawkins explain the process in how he and frontman Dave Grohl worked together in the studio on the band's latest release.
"The process for all our records is that Dave and I get together for a month or so and do demos, just quick ones. I kind of work as Dave's drum machine because he will have these ideas on the guitar and he needs someone to sit there and go through them with him. So we'll arrange the songs, and then the rest of the guys will come in and we'll do another month or so of pre-production with the whole band and live demos." He explained to Danny.
