The Darkness announce details of warm up shows and new album
Mon, 16 May 2011
The Darkness have announced three intimate warm up shows ahead of their scheduled appearance at this year's Download festival.
The flamboyant rockers announced they were reforming in March after brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins called a truce after years of in-house fighting said to be caused by singer Justin's drink and drug problems, which lead to him leaving the band in 2006.
But, the Hawkins siblings have been back in the studio and have now completed work on the new record along with original bandmates, bassist Frankie Poullain and drummer Ed Graham.
Tweeting about the recording process, Justin said " Cafe Studios in Lowestoft: The Choice of Champions. Ace timez in StudioLand making TD's album 3."
Tickets for the bands low key UK shows at Norwich Waterfront on June 5, in Leamington Spa on June 6 and London on June 8 are on sale now to holders of tickets to Download Festival and the band will then play the festival when it takes place on June 10.
Dates in Spain, Sweden, Austria, Norway and Finland are then to follow.
