New Rush album will be finished once current tour closes

Rush

The new album from prog-rock giants Rush will be completed once the band have wrapped up their current 'Time Machine' tour.

The new Nick Raskulinecz produced record, entitled 'Clockwork Angels' is scheduled for a spring 2012 release and will be the bands twentieth studio effort. The first single from the forthcoming LP 'Caravan' was released last summer along with "BU2B" which will also be featured on the new album, both tracks have been played on their current tour and have received a great reception from the bands legions of fans.

Drummer Neil Peart, describing the recordings on his website, NeilPeart.net, said, "We had never done anything like that before - write, arrange, record and release just two songs, instead of a whole album - then go out on tour and play them, along with what we thought was an inventive selection of our older songs. But the real-time time machine - life - has brought many changes to what used to be called the 'music business,' and we thought, 'Why not?'"

The current tour comes to an end on July 2nd at The George Amphitheatre in Seattle, WA after nearly a year on the road. Lead guitarist and hughes-and-kettner endorsee Alex Lifeson had these words for the brands website "The last date’s July 2 at the Gorge, just outside of Seattle, then it’s done, we will have the rest of summer off and then it’s back in the studio in September to start working on the next album."
