Axl has written 3 albums of material for Guns N Roses
Thu, 19 May 2011
Guns 'N' Roses guitarist, DJ Ashba, has revealed to Triple M Melbourne's Hot Breakfast radio show in Australia, that a new Guns 'N' Roses record is on the way.
Calling his frontman a music genius he explains, "He's just a genius when it comes down to music and I just cannot wait to sit down with an acoustic guitar and just write. He's just got this gift that's very, very rare."
Without giving too much away, he talked about the new material Axl Rose has written for the new record, "Axl has a lot of great songs up his sleeve. He probably has three albums worth of stuff recorded.
The stuff I've heard… I've been up in his hotel room many nights and he just sits down at the piano and plays. I'm like 'this is amazing, people have to hear this song' and he's like "ah, this is something I'm tinkering on'."
This would mean Guns 'N' Roses fans could hopefully be in for some new music, the last release was the 2008 Chinese Democracy album.
Meanwhile DJ Ashba is currently promoting the new Sixx:AM album, with Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx and James Michael - formed in 2007. In a recent interview he explains that Sixx:AM is a side project, but calls it a "real treat". "We don't write for radio. We don't have to please anyone. We write to make people think." He adds when speaking to Herald Sun.
Take a look at SIXX:AM's latest music video and single for 'Lies Of the Beautiful People'.
