Pearl Jam to release new book, documentary & album to mark anniversary
Fri, 20 May 2011

Pearl Jam are celebrating 20 years in the business this September with a two day rock fiesta to be held at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin.
Along with the two date festival Pearl Jam are also planning to release a book and an album in support of the Cameron Crowe-directed documentary 'Twenty' also due out this September. The album will be in the form of a soundtrack personally selected by Crowe.
The book will be written and compiled by rock journalist Jonathan Cohen and Mark Wilkerson, with a foreword penned by Crowe. The book is being billed as an "aesthetically stunning, definitive chronicle of the band’s past two decades" and will be released by book publisher Simon & Schuster.
Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament told Rolling Stone that "the whole movie is Cameron’s love letter to us – but it’s equal parts complimentary and really painful. It shows our growing pains and some real bad times. It was just really hard to watch."
