The Rolling Stones to possibly play London anniversary gig in 2012

Mon, 23 May 2011

Next year will mark 50 years since The Rolling Stones played their first live gig and guitarist Keith Richards has dropped hints recently in The Sun newspaper that the band are planning a special anniversary gig in London to mark the occasion.

Although no official announcement has been made, the Keith Richards told the newspaper that "The idea is there. We kind of know we should do it, but nobody's put their finger on the moment yet."

Despite rumours of a tour being planned later this year that were revealed in a lawsuit between Live Nation and its former chairman Michael Cohl last February, the band have denied having any "Firm" plans for a tour.
