Duran Duran forced to cancel dates

Tue, 31 May 2011

Simon Le Bon

80's New Wave idols Duran Duran have been forced to cancel the remaining dates on their UK tour due so lead man Simon Le Bon can recover from a voice a problem, according to Gigwise.com

Le Bon has been advised by docters to rest due to laryngeal problems that have already sidelined the iconic vocalist for several dates.

The announcment means that tonight's show in Bournemouth (May 31st), Cardiff (June 1st), Manchester (June 3rd) and Sheffield (4th June) will now be reschedualed.

Le Bon said: "I was really hoping that things would have improved enough by today to have allowed us to continue with the tour, but having spent two hours with one of the specialists, I have been advised that I need to hold off for about another week.

"I know how difficult this has been for all of the fans, as we’ve been postponing shows with very little notice, in the hope each day that the improvement would have been significant enough for me to sing again without risking any long-term damage."

Fans are advised to keep their tickets as the band are expected to announce the rescheduled dates in the coming weeks.
